Gilda’s Club’s annual “Paws 4 Life” Dog Walk is a day in support of a wonderful cause. Funds raised help Gilda’s Club ensure that our social and emotional support programs remain free of charge to any man, woman, or child living with any cancer diagnosis, or living with a loved one’s diagnosis, in the Delaware Valley.

New Hope Dog & Cat Family Scavenger Hunt, October 7, 2012, 10:30 am
To Raise Funds for The Crossings Animal Sanctuary
An exciting day exploring the streets of New Hope and a Sunday
Afternoon “Destination/Celebration” at Bitter Bob’s Restaurant

The Crossings Animal Sanctuary, Inc., a nonprofit animal welfare organization, will host the first “New Hope Dog & Cat Family Scavenger Hunt”, to be held on Sunday, October 7, 2012. Families will walk through New Hope, visiting local stores and rescue organizations in search of answers to clues about New Hope and about animal welfare. The proceeds of this fundraiser will benefit the animal welfare work of The Crossings Animal Sanctuary, including special rescue projects, pet information & referral, and community education. Our goal for this scavenger hunt is to raise $10,000.

The scavenger hunt will begin at Bitter Bob’s Restaurant at 110 South Main Street in New Hope, with registration from 10:30 am – 12:00 noon. After gathering all the clues, families will return to Bitter Bob’s for the destination/celebration, which will continue throughout the afternoon. The hunters will be joined at Bitter Bob’s by CAS supporters and volunteers; the public is invited to attend as well. In addition to awarding a prizes to the scavenger hunt winners (those who complete the hunt in the least amount of time), there will be raffles and door prizes.

Costs for the Scavenger Hunt are:
Pre-Registration (September 15th – 30th):
$20.00 per family (up to 5); $5.00 for each additional individual.
Day-of Registration:
$30.00 per family (up to 5); $5.00 for each additional individual.

Only pre-registrants will have the opportunity to purchase parking passes for reserved parking near Fran’s Pub and Bitter Bob’s Restaurant.

2nd Annual New Hope Dog & Cat Poker Run,  October 7, 2012, 10:00 am
To Raise Funds for The Crossings Animal Sanctuary
Featuring a 80-Mile Motorcycle Ride through Bucks County
and a Sunday Afternoon “Destination Celebration”
at Fran’s Pub in New Hope

The Crossings Animal Sanctuary, Inc., a nonprofit animal welfare organization, will host the second “New Hope Dog & Cat Poker Run”, an 80-mile motorcycle ride and destination celebration, to be held on Sunday, October 7, 2012. The proceeds of this fundraiser will benefit the animal welfare work of The Crossings Animal Sanctuary, including special rescue projects, pet information & referral, and community education. Our goal for this second motorcycle ride is to involve 150-200 riders and to raise $10,000.

The ride will begin at Brian’s Harley-Davidson in Langhorne, with registration from 10:00am – 11:30am. Riders will then travel through Bucks County, stopping at five participating restaurant “pit stops”: Bowman’s Tavern, Gardenville Hotel, Piper Tavern, Tohickon Tavern, and Apple Jack’s. At each of the five restaurants, riders will stop for a brief respite, draw a “poker card” from a CAS volunteer.

Fran’s Pub in New Hope is the final destination, and the celebration location. The party at Fran’s will begin at 12 noon and continue throughout the afternoon. The riders will be joined at Fran’s by CAS supporters and volunteers; the public is invited to attend as well. In addition to awarding a prize to the rider with the best poker hand, there will be raffles and door prizes.

Costs for the Poker Run are:
Pre-Registration (September 15th – 30th):
$20.00 per rider, $10.00 per passenger
Day-of Registration:
$25.00 per rider; $15.00 per passenger.
